Phi Slama Jama is a legendary basketball team that thrived during the 1980s at the University of Houston (UH). Coached by the iconic Guy V. Lewis, this talented group of athletes became known for their electrifying playing style that combined exceptional athleticism and a fast-paced, high-flying approach. Phi Slama Jama featured future NBA superstars Hakeem Olajuwon and Clyde Drexler, along with other remarkable players like Larry Michaeux, Benny Anders, and Michael Young. The team's success led them to three consecutive Final Four appearances from 1982 to 1984, narrowly missing out on a national championship title. Their captivating style of play revolutionized the game and left an indelible mark on both collegiate and professional basketball.
